Melissa Patterson, PhD (she/her/hers)

Director, Editorial Development
AIP Publishing

Dr. Melissa Patterson is the Director of Editorial Development at AIP Publishing. Her role is focused on creating content development strategies for the portfolio and in expanding the open access footprint of the publisher. Her interests lie in the integrity, reproducibility, and accessibility of science and scholarly works. Over the course of her career, she has been responsible for maintaining the ethical integrity of the portfolio, creating workflows, policies, and guidelines to help Editors and staff navigate potential cases of misconduct. Prior to her career in publishing, Melissa earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Stony Brook University.
